Oh Lovely Mud!

What Bliss! I should be ashamed that I let this happen, but just LOOK at that face. A couple of weeks ago, after the big snow, we had BIG mud. (We will hopefully have a new patio soon, but for now we have a mud hole.) We had a WARM day that melted 10 inches of snow. Put that together with two little boys, and this is what you get:

Okay - this is just pure fun! Of course, I had to carry them upstairs to the tub, but with a quick bath they were as good as new. Things are a bit less wet here now. We still have some standing water in the big hole.

Looking back

Just for fun: Here's Zachary over 3 years ago singing a then-favorite, "Ragtime Cowboy Joe."

If that's not cute, I don't know what is. And, just in case you couldn't quite make it out, here are the lyrics:

He always sings
Raggy music to the cattle as he swings
Back and forward in the saddle
On a horse,
That is syncopated, gaited
And there's such a funny meter
To the roar of his repeater
How they run
When they hear that coyboy's gun
Because the Western folks all know
He's a high-faluting, rooting, shooting',
Son of a gun from Arizona
Ragtime cowboy (talk about your cowboy) Ragtime cowboy Joe.

Weekend Snowstorms

Okay - this HAS to be it for the snow. It was fun, yes, but we are DONE! Friday morning, it started snowing here and it did not stop for 2 days! We all went outside for a bit on Saturday:

It was COLD, COLD, COLD. Of course, in short order, the kids and the dog were done with the outside and came in to enjoy some inside fun.

Sunday the real fun began. There was PLENTY of snow, but the temperature was in the upper 40s. Very comfortable for fort building, snowman creating, and tunneling! We were out for over 2 hours. I think the kids would have stayed out all day if they had been given the chance. The
fort didn't stand up to the rigors of play, but that was the only bad spot in a great afternoon.

Circus!

Last Thursday night, the Cases went to the circus! We brought Mom along, too. It was GREAT. Although Zachary didn't like being down on the floor before the show, both boys really seemed to enjoy the show. Zachary HATED seeing the clowns up close. They were REALLY into spending the money they got from Grandma and Great Grandma. Considering the $12 price tag on the cotton candy, they had no trouble spending it all. Besides that, they both liked seeing the people shot out of the cannon. After the show, Zachary asked, "Why did we waste half our day on the Greatest Show on Earth? It was really the LONGEST show on earth." How nice.
