Scenes from a Snow Day

Back in January, surviving yet another snow day. If you didn't know about the "snow paint," you'd really wonder what went on in our back yard. Yikes!!

New Game

Jeremy and Josey have been thick as thieves lately. This is their new favorite game. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but somehow Jeremy keeps score! ("That's no points for Josey, THREE for me!" and things like that are often heard. Who can argue?)

More Pinewood Derby

Isn't that boy so stinkin' cute in a uniform? Tim and the boys were on there own on the day of the pinewood derby. I spent the day (and overnight!) at Louise's sister Lori's house scrapbooking. Michelle went along, too. What an awesome getaway - Louise and Lori were great hostesses, and it was an incredibly relaxing and productive night!

Pinewood Derby

Zachary's pinewood derby car - it didn't win any awards, but he sure liked it alot!

Jeremy and His Guys

Here's Jeremy with some of his guys. The oldie but goodie, Simba, Bone, Sugar Free, and Sugar. We don't leave home without the three "pups." At least we don't have to lug Simba around anymore. I gotta say, the boys is kinda cute.

Big Fish Stories

Way back on the Friday before MLK day, the boys had the day off school. I took them to the Newport Aquarium. It took some prodding, as they would have been perfectly happy to stay home all day and hang out. The weather was ridiculously cold. It was TOTALLY worth it. We got there around 1PM and took our time wandering through the first few displays. Totally clueless, we went into the theater room thinking we would be seeing a movie. Instead, the curtain lifted, and there were divers ready to give a presentation. I think the kids thought it was pretty cool, especially watching the sharks swim all around them. Later, we also saw them feed the shark rays. REALLY cool. One of my favorite things was the creepy flounder, above, who has both eyes on one side of his head and blends right into the sand. It always surprises me what the boys like best. They saw penguins being fed, otters, sharks, and rays up close. Their favorite parts of the day? Getting a snack in the cafe, pushing the button that told about the turtles, and the computer screen in front of the gorgeos coral reef display. There was Zachary, intent on seeing each page of the computer display as the real fish were swimming around right in front of him! Geesh! What kids! I was the only one that would touch a shark, sea star, or crab, too. Here's one of the divers feeding Sweet Pea, one of the shark rays:

So, the guy VOLUNTEERS to do that. Can you imagine?

Unplugged

Just an update. I'm currently feeling more than a little out of touch. My computer has been down for a week or more. Hopefully, I'll be back soon. I have lots of photos I want to share! Thanks to my mom for a few minutes of glorious internet access on her laptop!
