Cold, cold, cold

We woke up to a cold, cold day.  As a consolation, the sun was shining, and there was still beautiful snow on the trees.

At 10 AM, Mom came over and we took the boys over the Astifan's house for the morning.  I drove her to Spring Grove Cemetery for Carl Nolte's funeral.  He was Auntie's brother-in-law.  Spring Grove really is a beautiful place.

Back at home, there was some beauty, too!

Tim and I went to small group tonight while the boys went to Mom's house.  (Oh, and by the way, today was the day I first had to go to the YOUNG MEN'S department to buy a pair of pants for my boy.  This is pretty much going too fast!)

PS - I've chosen a word for the year, and it's GENTLENESS.  Here's what the Good Book has to say:  "Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand." (Philippians 4:5).  Also, " A gentle answer turns away wrath,  but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1). And, " Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2). Another favorite: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (Colossians 3:12) Can't wait to see what changes my determined focus on this word brings!
